Exercise of the Week

Diamond push-ups allow you to focus on using your tricep muscles along with your chest and shoulders. Unlike regular push-ups, the prime movers for this exercise are the tricep muscles. If this exercise is too challenging with your feet on the ground, perform this exercise on your knees or against a wall. If this exercise is not challenging enough, try placing your hands on a medicine ball or a bosu ball to decrease your stability.

Instructions:

1) Lie on the floor and place your hands in a diamond position while in a plank position or on your knees.

2) Lower yourself until your chest almost touches the floor. Inhale as you lower yourself.

3) Press yourself up to the starting position using your triceps and squeeze your chest and abdomen. Breathe out as you push yourself to the starting position.

4) Try 3 x 10-15.
